St. Joseph, Mo. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha Soccer team settled for its first tie of the season with the Missouri Western State Griffons Thursday night after two overtime periods, 1-1. With the draw, the Mavericks record sits a 9-4-1 and 8-1-1 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. The Griffons move to 5-9-1 and 3-7-1 in the MIAA.

MWSU got on the board first with a goal late in the sixth minute by Audrey Henderson. UNO answered back in the 12th minute when #Nicole Baier fed a corner kick to Jerica Kuncl# who found the back of the net, beating Griffon goalie Jenna Weis. It was Kuncl's seventh goal of the season and her fourth goal in her last four games.

Kuncl lead the Maverick offense with six shots, putting four of them on goal.

UNO goalkeeper #Lauren Fox# made two saves in the game.

The Mavs outshot the Griffons 15-6. The UNO defense held its opponent under 10 shots for the fifth consecutive game.

The Mavericks will be back on the field Sunday, October 18 then they take on Emporia State at 1 p.m.
