TOPEKA, Kan. -- After playing the fourth-ranked team in the nation close for the first two sets, Washburn pulled away in the third to post a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-15) victory over Nebraska-Omaha Wednesday night in MIAA action in front of 815 fans at Lee Arena.
With the win, Washburn improved to 14-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA, while the Mavericks fell to 6-8 and 2-2.

Kayla Uhing led UNO with a career-high 13 kills on .281 hitting and two blocks. Junior Sara Kampschnieder# recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 12 kills and 10 digs.
The Mavericks' leading hitter #
Ellen Thommes# was held to six kills on .130 hitting, but added a match-high four blocks.
The Mavericks outhit Washburn in the first two sets, but the Lady Blues rebounded with a blistering .429 attack percentage in the third, committing no errors, to pull away for the easy victory.

Kayla Jansen# led Nebraska-Omaha defensively with 18 digs as both teams notched 60 digs in the match.
After playing three-straight conference road matches, UNO returns home this Friday night to host Fort Hays State beginning at 7 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
