Dustin Koca's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Mavericks a 2-1 victory over Augustana in the quarterfinals of the North Central Conference Tournament Thursday afternoon.
UNO (40-11) takes on Minnesota State, Mankato (26-21) at 3 p.m. at the Ballpark at Boys Town in a match-up of the conference's top seeds.
The Mavs took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after
Brian Strawn singled in a run. Augustana tied the game up in the seventh inning with a home run by Nate Bauman off Kessinger.
Ryan Hines (4-2) came into the game for
Chris Kessinger with one out in the seventh inning and threw three and two thirds innings of relief, striking out eight.
The Mavericks loaded the bases with no outs in the 10th inning when Koca lined a single into right field. Pinchrunner
Travis Jacobi scored from third to give the Mavs the 2-1 win.
