The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball team will close out the regular season with its final two North Central Conference regular season games this week, hosting Minnesota Duluth Thursday, then Minnesota State, Mankato Saturday afternoon.
UNO (16-10, 2-8 NCC) defeated UMD, 83-78, in Duluth on Jan. 19. The Bulldogs are mired in a five-game losing streak, also dropping 10 of their last 11, now standing at 4-20 on the season, and 1-9 in NCC play.
Katy Freeman leads the team with 13.0 ppg, adding 3.6 rpg with 30 assists and 33 steals. She scored 15 in the Bulldogs most recent game against South Dakota. Kelsey Hewitt is the top rebounder with 6.0 per game.
MSU has won its last two games, 98-61 over UNO, and 89-79 over Augustana. The Mavericks are 19-7 on the year, 5-6 in NCC play.
Heather Johnson scores a team-high 17.1 ppg on the year. She has lead MSU in five of its last six games with a high of 25 against UNO. Liz Trauger is the top rebounder at 6.6 rpg, also scoring 8.7 ppg. Joanne Noreen adds 12.5 ppg.
