DULUTH, Minn. -- Top-ranked Minnesota Duluth ended the University of Nebraska at Omaha's volleyball season with a 3-0 (30-16, 30-26, 30-18) victory Friday night in the semifinals of the NCAA II North Central Regional at Romano Gymnasium.
The Mavericks end the 2007 season with a 17-9 overall record.
Minnesota Duluth won its 26th-straight match, improving to 29-1 on the season. The Bulldogs also extended their home-match winning streak to 34 and will now meet Concordia St. Paul in the regional championship match Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
The Mavericks had trouble getting into an offensive rhythm, hitting just .138 in the match, committing 16 attack errors.
Senior
Carlie Christensen led the Mavericks with nine kills and three blocks. Sophomore
Ellen Thommes added six kills and three blocks.
Defensively, the Mavericks were led by sophomore
Kayla Jansen's 16 digs.
The Bulldogs were led by three-time All-American and 2006 AVCA co-National Player of the Year Vicky Braegelmann who recorded a match-high 19 kills on .630 hitting.
