Ruth Evans, the University of Nebraska at Omaha alumni edged the 2004 UNO Mavericks 3-2 (25-30, 30-23, 16-30, 30-28, 15-13) before 285 fans Saturday night at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
Masnty, who combined with Evans to block Nebraska-Omaha's
Amy McLeay to end the match, led the Alumni with 13 kills, nine digs, and six blocks. Evans produced 10 kills, five digs, and six blocks in the victory.
Jewelia Grennan added 12 kills and 16 digs.
Jamie Shafer-Uphoff paced the Alumni defense with 22 digs.
McLeay led the Mavericks with 18 kills, 10 digs, and two blocks. Junior middle blocker

The Mavericks open the 2004 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 26, when they travel to Florence, Ala. to take on defending national champion North Alabama in a 7 p.m. match in the North Alabama Lions Classic.
