Head coach Brittany Lange announced the addition of Taylor Ignoto to the 2019-20 women's basketball staff as an assistant coach. Ignoto joined the Mavericks after she served as the head coach of NJCAA Division III Rock Valley College last season in Rockford, Ill.

In her lone season with the Rock Valley College Golden Eagles, she led her team to a 25-6 record, a North Central Community College Conference (N4C) Championship with a perfect 14-0 record, a Region IV Division III Championship and came one win away from advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament. Ignoto also garnered N4C and Region IV Coach of the Year honors.

Prior to her time at Rock Valley, Ignoto spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Western Illinois. In those seasons, Western Illinois compiled an overall record of 48-17. In 2016-2017, the team won the Summit League Regular-Season and Tournament Championship, as well as the team's first NCAA Division I Tournament berth in 22 years. The Leathernecks also broke a total of 15 individual and team program records in the past two seasons and saw four players earn a combined 10 All-Summit awards.

Ignoto began her career as a student assistant at Division II powerhouse Washburn University, where she recruited potential student-athletes and assisted with individual workouts and skill development. Along with coaching experience, Ignoto played collegiately at Washburn. During her senior year, she started 24 out of 27 games and led her team in scoring at 14.0 points per game, which was 10th in the MIAA rankings. Ignoto also earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA.

As a junior, she transferred to Washburn from Mineral Park Area College. She averaged 17.2 points per game and earned All-America Honorable Mention, as well as First Team All-Region and All-Conference. Prior to Mineral Area College, she played her freshman season at Southern Illinois University.

A native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., she earned her bachelor's degree in social work and minored in psychology at Washburn University.
