Carrie Banks announced former DePaul standout Jacqui Grant as assistant coach for the Maverick women's basketball program July 31, 2020.
Grant was previously the video coordinator of coach Doug Bruno's staff at DePaul for the 2019-20 season.
Grant played her first two collegiate seasons at Illinois after a highly successful high school career at Maine South. She transferred to DePaul and played her final two seasons with the Blue Demons.
Grant joined the South Florida women's basketball program in November 2017 after finishing her undergraduate degree at DePaul , where she played for Hall of Fame coach Doug Bruno. She assisted with the day-to-day operations both on the court and behind the scenes, assisting coach Jose Fernandez and his staff with recruiting tasks, game statistics, video operations, travel and on-court duties. Grant brought a wealth of collegiate playing experience after spending two seasons with the Blue Demons.
She was the BIG EAST Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and started in all 35 games for the Blue Demons. As a senior, she led the BIG EAST in blocks and joined the 1,000-point club for her career. Grant earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors as a senior in 2017. The 6-foot-3 inch forward averaged 11.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Grant was a two-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, and a two-time member of the Big Ten All-Academic Team. As a junior, she earned DePaul's Shirley Becker Academic Award and Pat Ewers Unsung Hero award. She was a four-year starter at two major programs in Illinois.
She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in physical education from DePaul and South Florida.
