Prior to his time at Jackson State, Hudson coached at NAIA University of Michigan Dearborn in the 2017-18 season. He helped guide his team to a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship for the first time in program history. The program also saw its first NAIA Top-25 ranking and national tournament appearance.
