Tatum Edwards enters her second season as the assistant coach of the Omaha softball program after joining the program in August 2018.

In her first season with the Mavericks, Edwards helped the Mavericks to a 4-43 overall record in 2019.

Edwards served as a volunteer assistant at Purdue during the 2018 season.  Prior to her stint with the Boilermakers, she served as a graduate assistant at Nebraska in 2016 and 2017.

While starting her career as a coach, Edwards found success at the next level with three years of professional experience in the National Pro Fastpitch league. She helped the Chicago Bandits to back-to-back NPF championships in 2015 and 2016.

Edwards was a two-time All-American while she was a student-athlete at Nebraska from 2011-14. The Murrieta, Calif., native earned second-team All-America honors as a junior in 2013, before earning a third-team selection in 2014.  The 2013 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, Edwards went 30-10 with a 1.91 ERA, ranking 11th nationally in shutouts (10) and 12th in wins.  Offensively, she hit .286 with 11 doubles, 11 homers and 26 RBI.  In 2014, Edwards finished with a 24-13 record and a 1.78 ERA in the circle.  She tossed two no-hitters and hit .294 with 10 doubles, 14 homers and a career-best 52 RBI.  

Edwards ended her career ranked in the top 10 all-time at Nebraska in no-hitters, shutouts (24), complete games, wins, winning percentage, innings pitched and strikeouts.  Offensively, she finished ranked fourth in home runs (46), fifth in RBI (158), sixth in slugging percentage (.566) and eighth in doubles (36) and walks (87).
