Sara Sortino joins the Mavericks as a volunteer assistant for the 2013 season. Sortino played for the Mavericks from 2004-07, helping the Mavs win the North Central Conference Tournament in 2005. She earned All-NCC honors in both 2004 and 2005.

2007 (Senior)
In her final season at UNO, hit .284 and started all 54 games in the outfield...drove in 15 runs and scored 16 of her own...had seven doubles and drew 17 walks...helped the Mavericks reach the NCAA DII Tournament and finish seventh nationally.

2006 (Junior)
Batted .272 while starting 57 games in left field...drove in 17 runs while drilling 11 doubles and scoring 31 runs...led the team with 26 base-on-balls...recorded just one hitting error in 45 attempts for a .978 fielding percentage...finished second in the NCC with 0.67 walks per game...ranked sixth in the league in both hits (1.17 pg) and runs scored (0.75 pg)...went 5-for-8 with four RBIs and four runs scored in the Mavericks doubleheader sweep at South Dakota on March 29. 

2005 (Sophomore)
Earned all-North Central Conference honors a second straight season...batted .295 and drove in 11 runs...started at least one game at all three outfield positions, appearing in 40 games...had six two-hit games and one three-hit effort vs. Minnesota State...twice had two-RBI games...had three-straight two-hit games in April...had a seven-game hitting streak...had two sacrifice bunts vs. Emporia State. 

2004 (Freshman)
Played in 56 games, starting 54 in the outfield...had a nine-game hitting-streak which included a three-hit game April 13 in a 10-3 win over Wayne State...finished the season with a .307 batting average...led the team in triples with three...recorded a .974 fielding average committing just one error...all-North Central Conference selection.
