Biography

2001-2002 (Sophomore):
Played in 40 games both as a defenseman and a forward last season ...Tied a career-high for assists with two against Michigan on Nov. 16...Was third among defensemen in plus/minus and finished with a +5 for the second consecutive year...UNO was 5-2-2 when Jaworski recorded a point...He was plus or even in 29 of the 40 games he played in.

2000-2001 (Freshman):
Saw action in 37 games in his first year as a Maverick...Registered 2-10-12 and was third among UNO defensemen with a +5...A shoulder injury forced him to miss four games in the middle of the year but finished the year playing in 18 of UNO’s last 19 contests...11 of his 12 points came against CCHA foes...Had two assist games against Ferris State on Oct. 27 and against Northern Michigan on Jan. 19...His biggest assist came in game three of the CCHA playoffs when he set up Billy Pugliese’s game-winning goal to beat Ohio State in double overtime...He was second on the team in penalties (36) and third on the team in minutes (72).

Junior Hockey:
Was a member of the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League in 1998-1999...He was named a second team USHL all-star after recording 15-23-38 in 53 games, along with 125 penalty minutes...He participated in the USHL all-star game in January 1999 as well as the 1998 Freedom Challenge in Lake Placid...Played for the Bramalea Blues of the Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League in 1997-1998 and competed in the North American Hockey League in 1996-1997 for the Gaylord Grizzlies.

Born July 6, 1978 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Jean and Hank Jaworski...Graduated from Carrollton Senior High School in Michigan...Majoring in art at UNO.

Coach Kemp on Jaworski:
“He made the adjustment from defense to forward last year and contributed very well throughout the season at the wing position. We feel that his speed and his strength will help make him a factor offensively this year.”
