2001-2002 (Sophomore):
Reset the UNO record books with a 2.42 goals against average, a .919 save percentage and also became the first Maverick goaltender to reach 1,000 saves in a season (1,098)...Notched three shutouts against Lake Superior on Jan. 25 and Miami on Feb. 1-2...He had a shutout streak from Jan. 26 to Feb. 8 of 244:15...Was named the CCHA Defensive Player of the Week three consecutive weeks (Jan. 28 to Feb. 4) and was also named the United States College Hockey Online Player of the Week after his back-to-back shutouts against Miami...Ranked 10th among NCAA I goaltenders in save percentage...Recorded a career-high 46 saves in the 4-2 victory at Notre Dame on Jan. 19.

2000-2001 (Freshman):
Played in 39 games as a freshman for the Mavs, earning CCHA all-rookie team honors...He also set the UNO single-season record for wins with 21...Had a 2.49 goals against average and a .911 save percentage that was tops among all CCHA rookie goaltenders...In his first action as a Maverick, Ellis combined for a shutout with teammate Rodney McLeod in a 4-0 victory over Niagara on Oct. 13...He notched two other shutouts against Notre Dame on Dec. 19 and Findlay on Mar. 1 shared with Brian Haaland...Was named CCHA rookie of the week on Jan. 1 after UNO swept the Alabama-Huntsville Holiday Tournament and then was named CCHA defensive player of the week on Feb. 26 after two victories over Ferris State that helped the Mavericks clinch home ice for the playoffs...Recorded two assists in the 7-4 win over Ferris State on Oct. 27...Had a season-high 44 saves in the 4-3 double overtime win over Ohio State in the CCHA playoffs on Mar. 11.

Junior Hockey:
Played for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League in 1999-2000 and was named the league’s most valuable player after posting a league-record 11 shutouts...He was 34-16-0 in 55 games with a 2.25 goals against average and a .925 save percentage...In 1998-1999, he was a member of the New Market Hurricanes of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League where he posted a 24-3-1 record in 28 games.

Personal:
Born June 19, 1980 in Orangeville, Ontario, the son of Debbie Farion and John Ellis...Was selected in the second round (60th pick overall) by the Dallas Stars in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft...Hobbies are watching movies and playing golf.
