Mike Lewis joined the hockey staff as the strength and performance coach in June of 2018.  Before coming to UNO, Mike served as the director of strength and conditioning at Bemidji State from 2016-2018 where he worked with both the men’s and women’s hockey teams as well as the school’s other sports.  He had previously been a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at BSU for two years.  

Lewis earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology - sport and exercise science with a minor in coaching from Minnesota in 2011.  He interned with Gopher Strength, working with all varsity sports teams.  Between graduation and his graduate program, Lewis was a sports performance coach at 1st Athlete in Edina, Minn. and also worked as an assistant strength coach at Minnetonka High School.  He also spent time at Velocity Training Center in Edina as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, working with the center’s pro, college, junior hockey and high school teams.

Lewis has been a certified strength and conditioning specialist since 2011 and a member of the NSCA since 2010.
