Biography

2001-2002 (Sophomore):
Appeared in three games for the Mavs and sported a 1.94 goals against average...He had a career-high 31 saves in his first collegiate win over Alabama-Huntsville on Jan. 12...Recorded six saves against Ferris State on Nov. 23...Suffered the first loss of his career at Minnesota State, Mankato on Mar. 2 in the 4-3 overtime loss...Stopped 43 of 46 shots he faced on the season.

2000-2001 (Freshman):
Saw action in one contest his freshman season, the Mar. 1 win over Findlay...He made six saves in 23:39 and combined for the 4-0 shutout with teammate Dan Ellis.

1999-2000:
Sat out the entire season as a redshirt.

Junior Hockey:
Played for the Fargo-Moorhead Ice Sharks of the United States Junior Hockey League in 1998-1999 where he went 2-6-0 with an .850 saves percentage... In 1997-1998, Haaland was a member of the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, holding a 2.60 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

Personal:
A physical eduacation major at UNO...Born March 11, 1980 in Minot, ND, the son of John and Lynette Haaland...Played three years of hockey at Minot High School...Was named to the 1997 all-west region and all-west tournament teams his junior year and also was named the team’s most valuable player for Minot High...After graduation, Haaland plans to pursue a career in professional walleye fishing.
