Grant Rohrig was hired as the head athletic trainer in June 2022. He previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at UW-Milwaukee.
Rohrig oversaw men's basketball and women's tennis while with the Panthers. He provided individualized clinical rehabilitation, treatment, and injury prevention to his athletes. He also assisted with documentation for evaluations, physician referrals, imaging results, and patient education.
Prior to his stint at Milwaukee, Rohrig oversaw football and baseball as an assistant athletic trainer at Washington University (St. Louis) for three years. He led a football staff of five graduate students, an orthopedic fellow, and a certified athletic trainer. In addition to his direct impact with the program and athletes, Rohrig held administrative duties as the insurance coordinator for the athletes.
Rohrig made his training debut at Nebraska-Kearney. He worked with the Loper football and baseball teams from 2016-18. Rohrig also assisted with medical coverage of the Midwest Duals (2016 & 2017) and the UNK Holiday Inn Classic (2017 & 2018) Wrestling tournaments. In addition, he covered the nonconference Men's Basketball schedule and served as a preceptor for undergraduate athletic training students at clinical rotation sites.
He holds membership with NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association), CATS (College Athletic Trainers' Society) MATA (Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association) and MOATA (Missouri Athletic Trainers Association).
The Stillwater, Minnesota native earned his bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Minnesota-Duluth. He then received his master of science degree in education and student affairs from Nebraska-Kearney.
