Jake Koch

Jake Koch enters his second season as an assistant coach and his third year as a member of the Omaha men's basketball staff in 2021-22.

Koch, who was promoted to assistant coach in June 2020, was the Mavericks' director of men's basketball operations from 2018-20.
 
Prior to Omaha, he served three years on the staff at Northern Iowa as a film assistant (2017-18) and graduate assistant (2015-17).
 
Koch also enjoyed a four-year playing career for the Panthers from 2009-13. He ranks No. 2 all-time at UNI for career games played (138) and blocked shots (123) and remains one of 37 players in school history to record 1,000 career points. Following his collegiate career, he played professionally for two seasons in Europe with CSM Medias in Romania (2013) and the Bayer Giants in Germany (2013-15).
 
Koch graduated with his bachelor's degree in movement and exercise science: sports psychology from UNI in 2013 and earned a master's degree in leisure, youth and human services from UNI in 2019.
 
A native of Green Bay, Wis., Koch and his wife, Sam, have a daughter, Colette, and a son, Garrison.
