Manager Colby McCord enters his second year as part of the Maverick baseball staff in 2013.

A four-year letterwinner for the Mavericks from 2009 to 2012, McCord finished his career ranked ninth in school history for career games played (163) and 11th in doubles (33). He posted a career .324 batting average with nine home runs and 77 RBI.

As a senior in 2012, he hit a team-high .366 with three homers, 20 RBi and a team-high 27 runs scored and 18 doubles. McCord also posted the Mavs’ top slugging percentage (.535) and on-base percentage (.435). For his efforts, he was named to the College Sports Madness All-Independent First Team.

McCord graduated with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2012.
