OMAHA, Neb. – Speed, power, pitching and local talent highlight head coach Rob Fournier's first recruiting class for Omaha Baseball. 
 
"There was a lot of excitement (on the recruiting trail)," Omaha's first-year head coach said. "They're ready for the next journey… There's just a lot of great vibes going on right now." 
 
The Mavericks have added 22 players, including six with NCAA Division I experience. Eleven of the newcomers are hurlers, including NJCAA All-American left-hander Taylor Waldron.
 
"We felt like we had to address pitching," Fournier said. "We brought in a good nucleus of right-handers and left-handers, a good mix and match of different types of pitchers."
 
Omaha also welcomes another JUCO All-American in Boston Doeschot, a two-way player who figures to bolster the everyday lineup.
 
"Our position players, we wanted to build some depth," Fournier said. "We feel like we have a good combination of speed, power and experience. We're very excited about that."

Omaha heads to the fall with 12 returnees and 22 newcomers. Fifteen players on Fournier's first roster have local ties. 
 
"Our biggest challenge first was to get the best nucleus to stay, and I felt like we did," Fournier said. "We felt like we tackled it, and we're happy with where we're at right now."
 
SIGNEE NOTES
Dalton Berg 
Named NJCAA All-Region, Berg hit .351 with a team-leading 20 home runs and 65 RBIs last year. At McCook he hit .329 with 29 HRs and 115 RBIs over two seasons.
 
Beau Bloxdorf 
Named NJCAA Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year, Bloxdorf led the Wolfpack to two NJCAA DII World Series appearances.
 
Krew Bond 
Bond played 41 games for the DI Billikens last season, and hit .343 with 112 runs, 115 RBIs and 39 SBs in two years at WVC.
 
Konner Brown 
Brown hit .353 with 7 HRs and 59 RBIs for Wabash Valley College, helping the Warriors to the NJCAA World Series.
 
Conner Christensen 
Christensen hit .364 with 6 HRs and 56 RBIs for Wabash Valley College, helping the Warriors to the NJCAA World Series.
 
Boston Doeschot 
As a two-way player at Ellsworth, Doeschot was named ICCAC/All-Region XI First Team and NJCAA First Team All-American.

Cam Fleck 
Fleck hit .314 with 8 HRs and 49 RBIs last year at Chandler-Gilbert after playing his freshman year at Big Bend CC.
 
Derek Gonzalez 
Gonzalez hit 6 HRs with 37 RBIs to lead Chipola to the FCSAA Baseball D1 Final Four, He graduated from the prestigious Carlos Beltran Academy in Puerto Rico.
 
Van Haneberg 
Named Region 9 All-Region and All-Tournament at SECC, where Van Haneberg posted a perfect 9-0 pitching record. 
 
Andrew Johnson 
In two seasons at Gulf Coast, Johnson hit .329 with 92 runs scored, leading GCSC to the FCSAA DI Tournament.

Ethan Lapointe 
Lapointe had 36 Ks in 23.2 innings pitched last year for Indian River State. He pitched at Eastern Michigan University as a freshman.
 
Kyu Lumsdon 
Lumsdon posted a 7-2 record as a freshman for Vernon.
 
Ryan McDougal 
McDougal was named Freshman of the Year in the Heart of American Conference, finishing with a 4-3 record and a 2.34 ERA for Benedictine.
 
Dylan Nagle 
In two seasons with Heartland, Nagle had an 18-5 pitching record for the District 24 A Tournament Champions. 
 
James Nydegger 
Nydegger was named ICCAC First Team All-Region at SCC last year and hit .355 with 12 HRs and 99 RBIs in two seasons with Blackhawks
 
Jayden Patel 
Patel hit .405 with 10 HRs, 58 RBIs and 66 runs scored to lead Parkland to an NJCAA Division II World Series berth.
 
Corbin Payne 
Payne comes to Omaha from Division I Charleston Southern and is one of two new Mavericks to play for Logan CC.
 
Luke Scherrman 
Sherrman comes to Omaha from Southeastern CC, after starring for the region champions at Wheaton Warrenville South HS in Iowa.
 
Taylor Waldron
After being named NJCAA All-American at Logan CC, Waldron spent last season on the hill for CUSA champion Jacksonville State.
                  
Rodney Whaley 
Whaley played football and baseball at Omaha Burke HS, and returns home after pitching at Iowa Western and Division I Western Kentucky. 
 
Ian Woita 
Woita set a program record with 24 home runs in 2026 for Kansas City Kansas CC, and was selected All-KJCC Honorable Mention at third base. He returns to Nebraska where he was named All-State Honorable Mention at Lincoln St. Pius X HS. 
 
Reece Wrage 
Wrage was named to the Iowa Super State team at North Polk HS. He started 19 games over two seasons at Kirkwood.
