OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Baseball (18-23, 13-10 Summit) returns home for its final regular-season series of the year, hosting South Dakota State (20-27, 11-2 Summit) from May 13-16 at Tal Anderson Field. First pitch for all four games is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT with every contest streamed on the Summit League Network.
The Mavericks return to Omaha riding momentum after capturing a road series victory against Summit League-leading Oral Roberts in Tulsa. Omaha split Friday's doubleheader before securing the series win with a 10-8 victory on Saturday, becoming the first Summit League team this season to take a series from the Golden Eagles.
Offensively, Omaha continued to swing a hot bat throughout the weekend.
Jackson Trout paced the Mavericks with multiple hits across the series and continues to lead the Summit League in batting average (.376), slugging percentage (.629) and OPS (1.072). Trout also is second in the conference in hits (54).
Cardel Dick added key production in the middle of the lineup, with four hits and two RBI, while
Tyler Bishop continued his strong stretch at the plate with four hits, two RBI, and one home-run after a six-hit, two-home run weekend at Northern Colorado.
Bishop places second in the Summit League in doubles with 15.
On the mound, Omaha's pitching staff delivered in key moments against the top offenses in the conference.
Maddox Meyer continues to anchor the rotation after recently earning Summit League Kwik Star Peak Pitcher of the Week honors, while
Nate Moquin remains among the league leaders in saves with seven. Moquin logged two innings of scoreless relief to earn the save in Omaha's 7-5 victory in game two of the doubleheader on Saturday, May 9 against the Golden Eagles.
The Jackrabbits enter the weekend in fourth place, while the Mavericks place second in the Summit League standings.
Following the regular-season finale, Omaha will prepare for the 2026 Summit League Baseball Championship later this month in Minneapolis, Minnesota hosted by St. Thomas from May 20-23.
