TULSA, Okla. — Omaha scored five runs in the third inning, and its bullpen retired the final 13 hitters to secure an 8-6 Summit League win Sunday.
With the victory, Omaha took two of three games at Oral Roberts, becoming the only team to win a conference series against the Golden Eagles this season. Omaha has also clinched one of four Summit League tournament berths.
Moved into the leadoff spot due to injuries,
Jackson Trout went 3 for 4 with a solo home run in the sixth inning, his eighth of the season. The league's leading hitter extended his on-base streak to 15 games.
Five Mavericks recorded multi-hit games as Omaha (18-23, 13-10 Summit) outhit Oral Roberts 13-8.
Tyler Bishop highlighted the five-run third with a two-run homer and finished 2 for 5. His seventh home run of the season gives him 24 for his career, seventh-most in program history.
Hayden Lewis, who along with Trout has started every game this season, went 2 for 5 with his third home run.
Sam Beck and
Eli Hoerner also added two hits apiece.
Drew Iverson, the first of five Omaha relievers, earned his first win of the season.

Cole Kenyon and
Tanner Hosick combined to hold the Golden Eagles scoreless over the final 4 2/3 innings, with Hosick recording his first save.
Second-place Omaha has won three of its last four games against Oral Roberts (30-18, 20-4 Summit), which clinched the regular-season title Saturday. The Mavericks also secured their first series win in Tulsa since 2022.
Omaha closes the regular season with four games at Tal Anderson Field against South Dakota State, May 13-16. The Mavericks sit in second place in the Summit League standings, two games ahead of South Dakota State and Northern Colorado.
