MBB welcomes St. Thomas Thursday and Denver Sunday for nationally-televised matchup

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's Basketball (12-14, 5-6 Summit) opens the final homestand of the season on Thursday, Feb. 12 when the Mavericks begin the regular-season series with St. Thomas inside Baxter Arena at 7 p.m. CT in a rematch of last season's Summit League title game. Omaha has faced the seven other Summit League members at least once this season. The in the middle game of the three-game stanza, Omaha welcomes Denver to the 402 for a nationally-televised matchup on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network. Omaha defeated Denver on the road on Jan. 31, 84-82.

Junior guard Paul Djobet turned in one of the best offensive games in the Division I era for Omaha as he poured in 38 points last Saturday afternoon in Fargo, North Dakota. The Mavericks, however, weren't able to catch Summit League-leading North Dakota State in the second half as the Mavericks dropped a 92-84 decision. Djobet scored 17 in the first half and added 21 after the break as he spearheaded a comeback from 18 points down. Djobet, who became eligible after the fall semester, had recorded three straight double-doubles before being held to nine points and nine rebounds in a loss to North Dakota on Thursday. On Saturday, he went 14 of 22 from the field, including six 3-pointers, and made four free throws. He also grabbed six rebounds.

Djobet's 38 points against the Bison set a new career-high for the Lille, France native and were also the most by a Summit League player this season. Last week's Summit League Peak Performer's 38 points were the the most by a Maverick since Frankie Fidler scored 37 at North Dakota in 2022. Djobet's 38 are T5 most in program history and T2 in the Division I era with Devin Patterson. Djobet was one of just three Division I players to score 38 or more points on Feb. 7, 2026 (Ebuka Okorie - Louisville [40] and Jayme Mitchell - Jackson State [39]).

Omaha is 3-6 all-time against the Tommies with the home team winning each of the last four regular-season matchups. Omaha defeated St. Thomas 85-75 in last season's Summit League tournament championship game. Before 2024, Omaha had lost the first four contests against UST, dating to Dec. 20, 2021.

Omaha continues the final homestand of the season, welcoming Denver to Baxter Arena for a nationally-televised contest on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. CT. Senior night is set for Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. CT vs. Oral Roberts.
