OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's Soccer (1-5-2) scored twice in the span of four minutes against SIUE (1-6) in the opening half and didn't look back as the Mavericks held on for a 2-1 victory, their first of the 2025 season.
Senior forward
Theo Klein (Strasbourg, France) buried the second goal of the day for
Donovan Dowling's side, his 20th career goal at Omaha, to become the Mavericks' all-time goal scorer, surpassing Vance Rookwood's (2011-14) 19.
Earlier in the match, the Mavs enjoyed back-to-back corner kick opportunities in the fifth minute that began with a senior forward
Kaito Ueki (Nerima-Ku, Japan) shot blocked, the only shot for either side in the first 27 minutes.
Sophomore forward
Maguire Perkins (Gretna, Neb.) opened the scoring with a 30th minute goal from the middle of the box, his second of the season, off a corner kick by graduate student midfielder
Yoshiki Igarashi (Tokyo).

Italo Jenkins (Atlanta, Ga.) for the team lead in goals with two in 2025.
The road Cougars got on the board seven minutes into the second half with a header in front of the Mavericks' keeper by Evan Howard, assisted by Evan Forestier, to cut the deficit in half for SIUE (1-6).
Omaha begins Summit League play this week, welcoming St. Thomas to Caniglia Field on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. CT on the Summit League Network.
