OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha men's soccer (0-2-0, 0-0-0 Summit League) hits the pitch at Caniglia Field for the first time in 2025 Sunday when the Mavericks welcome Utah Valley (3-0-0, 0-0-0 WAC) to Omaha at 5 p.m. CT. Sunday's match air on the Summit League Network.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive an Omaha soccer scarf. Sunday's match is presented by FNBO. Tickets for the men's match v. Utah Valley are good for admission to the 7:30 p.m. women's match against Nebraska.
- Omaha's lone goal of the season came in the 24' minute of the season opener when sophomore forward Bradley Takamo (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) converted a penalty opportunity against FIU.
- The Mavericks have used two goalkeepers through the first 180 minutes of the campaign with junior Kamy Ndione (Osaka, Japan) and senior Cole Stewart (Lee's Summit, Mo.) splitting the duties in goal. Omaha has record seven saves in 2025 to opponents' four.
- Donovan Dowling's Mavericks were selected fifth in the 2025 Summit League Preseason Poll.
The Wolverines hit the road Sunday for the first time in 2025 when the side visits Caniglia Field. Utah Valley is 3-0 thus far on the season with all three victories coming as shutouts. Through three games, Utah Valley has held opponents to just five shots on goal and are outshooting the opposition 46-22. Utah Valley's longest streak of shutouts at any point during the season is five games, a total stretch of 544 minutes without allowing a goal during the 2016. Utah Valley is 3-0 for the first time since 2018. Wingback Noah Pogue earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for matchweek one, the WAC announced Tuesday. Pogue scored the first goal in UCCU Stadium in last Thursday's 4-0 win over CSUB, then had the primary assist on Lewis Knecht's 70th-minute goal against Gonzaga that made it 2-0 and gave the Wolverines a much-needed cushion. Pogue also played a pivotal role in the team's defensive dominance, helping hold CSUB and Gonzaga to a combined three shots on goal.
Keegan Oyler was named to TopDrawerSoccer's national Team of the Week after the first week of competition. Oyler had the 18th multi-assist game in program history last Thursday against CSU Bakersfield, assisting on the first two goals of the UCCU Stadium era, then set up Isaac Emojong's strike to cap off a 4-0 win over Gonzaga on Sunday. Oyler also played a pivotal part in the defensive effort in the two victories.
Omaha men's soccer hits the road for four of the next five matches, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Drake. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN+.
