GCU Invitational ends in playoff, men's golf finishes 12th

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Omaha men's golf finished 12th of 18 teams in a thrilling GCU Invitational, hosted by Grand Canyon at the GCU Golf Course.

The host Lopes finished first in the field, totaling a team score of 12-under to win the event. GCU's Tommaso Zorzetto and Cal State Fullerton's Tegan Andrews were declared co-champions after a six-hole playoff to attempt and break the deadlock. The leaders finished 9-under par.

Nolan Johnson and Luke Strako tied for 37th to tie for the Omaha team lead over the three-round, two-day event. Strako shot a 69 in the final round and Johnson carded a 71 in the second session on Tuesday.

Omaha finished ahead of fellow Summit League member St. Thomas on the final team leaderboard. Kansas City finished 11th overall.

Omaha men's golf returns to action on Monday, March 17 in the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo.
