OMAHA, Neb. (Dec. 22, 2025) – Omaha Men's Basketball forward
Isaac Ondekane will be out for the season following a foot injury that occurred in the preseason, head coach
Chris Crutchfield announced Monday.
Ondekane joined Omaha in 2024 after beginning his career at Butler CC and Lindenwood. Ondekane shot 58.1 percent from the field last season, totaling 185 points. He started all but one of his 35 games played, including the Mavericks' first-ever March Madness game against (2) St. John's. He recorded nine games of five or more rebounds, including a career-high 12 at South Dakota on Jan. 29, 2025.
"We all feel for Isaac, who was poised to have a big year for us after a terrific summer," said Crutchfield. "We'll continue to support him through the rehab process and are actively pursuing all available options to extend his eligibility. I also want to thank our partners at OrthoNebraska and our sports performance staff for their work with Isaac over the last two months."
Omaha returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 28 at Oregon with tip-off set for 7 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network and 1290 KOIL in Omaha.
