OMAHA, Neb. (Nov. 19, 2025) - Omaha student-athletes continue to perform at a high level in the classroom, ranking amongst the top of the Summit League, National Collegiate Hockey Conference and at the national level. The NCAA released its Graduation Success Rate (GSR) information Wednesday, with Omaha posting a 95 percent GSR among all student-athletes.
This marks the sixth consecutive year Omaha's overall GSR has been at 93 percent or higher.
"Our student-athletes continue to achieve at an exceptionally high level because of the culture our department has created, the positive relationships we have built with campus partners and the dedication of our academic support staff," said Lindsey Ekwerekwu, deputy athletic director/senior woman administrator. "Many of our Mavericks are trailblazers in their families as first-generation college students and their success creates opportunities that will impact future generations. We are proud of our holistic student-athlete environment here at Omaha and remain committed to helping each Maverick excel in every area."
The Mavericks' impressive GSR score includes seven sport programs that achieved a perfect 100 percent GSR. Those teams include men's basketball, hockey, men's soccer, men's tennis, women's golf, women's soccer and women's tennis. An additional four teams recorded GSR scores of 91 percent or higher, including three with 95 percent scores (baseball, softball and women's swimming and diving).
The GSR is a measurement that, unlike the federally mandated graduation rates, includes transfer data in the calculation. The GSR data released Wednesday is based on four classes of scholarship-receiving student-athletes who entered college from the fall of 2015 to the fall of 2018.
