OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Soccer (5-8-4, 2-4-1 Summit) fell 2-0 Thursday evening against South Dakota (7-4-6, 3-2-2 Summit) Thursday evening at Caniglia Field in the penultimate regular-season fixture of the 2025 season.
Off a shot that went into the low-right corner 12 minutes in, Ashby Johnston of South Dakota gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead.
Omaha goalkeeper Charlotte Huggard (Plymouth, Mich.) stood tall in the 22nd minute denying the Coyotes from scoring their second goal from a kick originating from the far-left corner of the pitch.
In the 35th minute, the road side was awarded a penalty kick. Klarissa Vega took the Coyotes penalty opportunity, giving South Dakota their second goal of the night.
Huggard shut down South Dakota again in the 79th minute with a huge diving stop to prevent a Vega goal in the high-right corner.
