OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Sports Properties and Omaha-based Kiewit announced Tuesday a transformative partnership that will see the leading construction and engineering company become the presenting sponsor for Omaha women's athletics.
The partnership includes Kiewit branding on social media, radio, in-venue and Omaha digital platforms, including OMavs.com, and benefits basketball, cross country/track and field, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball.
As part of the multi-year partnership, Kiewit will appear prominently at Omaha's athletic venues and on key digital platforms for women's sports. The agreement extends the Kiewit brand, demonstrates its commitment in Omaha, the state of Nebraska and across the broader region, and will help the company further attract and retain the best engineering and construction personnel to deliver transformative construction projects.
"We are proud to partner with Kiewit Corporation, one of the world's most respected and community-minded companies, in support of Maverick women's athletics," said Omaha Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics
Adrian Dowell. "This partnership represents a shared commitment to opportunity, excellence and leadership, and places Omaha among only a few Division I institutions with a dedicated corporate partner across all women's sport programs. It's another example of how the Omaha community continues to rally around Maverick student-athletes and the momentum of Omaha Athletics."
Kiewit served as the lead contractor for the construction of both Baxter Arena and Maverick Park, combining to host three of Omaha's women's varsity programs (basketball, softball, volleyball).
"Kiewit is excited to be the official presenting sponsor of Omaha women's athletics, a university and athletics organization committed to excellence, hard work and making a positive, lasting imprint in our communities," said Mike Johnson, executive vice president, Kiewit Building Group Inc. "It's exciting to have our brand connected to a great program. Our company looks forward to supporting Omaha and its outstanding women athletes and coaches, and making the most of this strategic partnership in Nebraska and everywhere these athletes compete."
Omaha is now the first institution in the Summit League to have a presenting sponsor for women's athletics and the partnership is one of just a few across Division I sports.
As part of the multi-year agreement, Kiewit will also conduct a chuck-a-puck, utilizing Kiewit hard-hat pucks, at three Omaha Hockey games with net proceeds going to the Mavericks in support of women's athletics.
