NORMAN, Okla. - After taking home four Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar awards last week, the Omaha men's golf team earned a pair of team awards today as the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) honored the Mavericks with the Outstanding Team Academic Award and the President's Special Recognition.

Teams need to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to earn the Team Academic Award, while at least a 3.5 GPA is needed to earn the President's Special Recognition. This past academic year, the Mavericks posted a 3.620 cumulative GPA, led by Christopher Atkinson, Nolan Johnson, Josh Peters, and Connor Wilson.

72 Division I programs earned the team award this year, while 59 earned the President's Special Recognition.
