McKenna Ruch closes in on 1,000 career kills

Ruch named Summit League Co-Offensive Peak Performer of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha volleyball graduate student middle blocker McKenna has been named the Summit League Co-Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Ruch posted double-digit kills in each of Omaha's three matches to close-out the regular season, notching 12 against Denver (Nov. 14), 16 against South Dakota (Nov. 16) and 18 at Kansas City in the regular season finale on Nov. 19.

Contributing three service aces (two against the Coyotes), Ruch tallied six digs and 10 block assists with six coming in the home finale on Senior Night against South Dakota at Baxter Arena. Attacking at a .568 clip over the three contests, Ruch finished the last week of Summit League play with 53.0 points.

Omaha volleyball finished the regular season 16-11 overall, 14-2 in conference play. The Mavericks have won five-straight and emerged victorious in 11 of its last 12 contests.

The defending Summit League tournament champion Mavericks await their matchup in the semifinal of the 2024 Summit League Volleyball Championship on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. in Kansas City. The two-seed in this year's tournament, Omaha will face either #3 South Dakota or #6 Kansas City. South Dakota State is the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Champion and the top seed in this year's championship. The championship final will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Swinney Center in Kansas City with the winner earning the Summit League's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship. All matches in the 2024 Summit League Volleyball Championship will air on the Summit League Network powered by Midco Sports Plus.
