KANSAS CITY - Omaha volleyball defeated Kansas City 3-1 for the second time this season Tuesday as the Mavericks cap the 2024 regular season 14-2 in Summit League play and 16-11 overall. Omaha will be the two-seed in the upcoming Summit League Championship with a bye into the semifinal on Monday, Nov. 25 in Kansas City.
The home Roos got off to a fast start at home building a fast seven-point lead en route to a 25-17 opening set victory over the Mavericks. In Omaha's following two set victories, the Roos were never out of it, clawing back to give Omaha 25-23 and 25-21 victories in sets two and three. Omaha would dominant in the fourth set 25-18 with 16 kills and one ace.
McKenna Ruch led all players with 18 kills while
Kali Jurgensmeier led the way with five block assists.
Ivy Leuck posted 34 assists and
Erica Fava notched three service aces.
Omaha will face the winner of #3 South Dakota and #6 Kansas City in the semifinal of the 2024 Summit League Volleyball Championship live on the Summit League Network.
