The No. 19 Omaha Mavericks fell in 6-2 in tonight's series finale against the No. 5 Denver Pioneers.
Tanner Ludtke got things started this evening when he buried his sixth goal of the campaign on the power play at 12:39 of the first period. His brother
Griffin Ludtke and
Ty Mueller had the assists on the Mavericks opening goal.
Denver equalized the game at 1-1 with 38 seconds left in the first period with a power play strike.
In the second period, Denver found the back of the net four times before
Jack Randl tipped home his seventh lamp lighter of the year to pull within three of Denver. The Pioneers added one last goal on a 5-on-3 power play to make it 6-2.
The Mavericks will look to bounce back next weekend when they battle the St. Cloud State Huskies in road series up North in Minnesota.
