GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A gritty back-and-forth victory between a pair of Summit League rivals resulted in the Mavericks coming from behind, two sets to one to defeat the North Dakota Fighting Hawks 3-2 in five sets tonight.
Omaha picked up its second win in a row to move to 3-10 along with a 2-1 record in the conference. Meanwhile, the Fighting Hawks fall to 4-11 and 1-2 in Summit League Play.

- The Mavericks opened up with the match's first point with a service ace by Rachel Fairbanks but were then on the receiving end of North Dakota's seven straight service aces. Despite the Mavericks best efforts, the Fighting Hawks carried over the momentum from their seven point lead and took the first set 25-16.
- After dropping the first two points in the second set, the Mavericks responded back with back-to-back kills by Fairbanks and Shayla McCormick. With a tied 2-2 set, Omaha took the lead after an attack error by UND. With that momentum, the Mavericks kept a steady lead over the Fighting Hawks. The lead later grew to 22-11 after a trio of kills by Mckenna Ruch and McCormick and an attack error by the Fighting Hawks. With a strong finish, the Mavericks won the second set 25-15.
- Despite the Mavericks early 8-6 lead, the Fighting Hawks pulled ahead with five unanswered points. Coming off UND's five straight points, the Mavericks responded back with a trio of kills and a service ace by Olivia Curry to take the lead once again 12-11. After giving up three points from back-to-back attack errors, the Mavericks couldn't pull ahead and dropping the set 25-19.
- Although the Mavericks took the first point of the set with a kill by Amanda Hardt, UND held the lead over Omaha until the score was equalized at 6-6. With an attack error against the Fighting Hawks, the Mavericks took the lead. It was a back and forth battle, until the Mavericks put up three consecutive points with back-to-back kills and a service ace by Ivy Leuck. The Maverick's did not need much offense for the next four points as a series of constant costly attack errors that put Omaha up 20-14. McCormick capped off it off 25-20 with the set-winning kill.
- After going down 10-9, the Mavericks took care of business and pulled ahead in the final two points of the match. Ruch closed out the thrilling five-set match with a kill, assisted by Curry.

- The Mavericks registered 61 kills tonight which ties a season high they set two matches ago against Kansas City.
- They received 18 kills and 16 kills from Shayla McCormick and Amanda Hardt respectively. Both of those marks are season high for the Maverick pair.
- On the defensive side of the net, four Mavericks had double-digit digs this evening. Olivia Curry, Shayla McCormick and Erica Fava all had 10 digs while Rachel Fairbanks lead Omaha with 12.
