Mavericks Conclude First Conference Match in a Draw

Kansas City, MO. -- The Omaha Mavericks finished their first conference match in a 1-1 draw against the Roos. The Mavericks had an early lead, but that wasn't enough at the end of the 90 minutes. 

With their second draw of the season, the Mavericks now hold a 3-3-2 record. 

How It Happened
    • The first half started off in the Mavericks favor. With a pass across the box from Cillian Heaney, Mathis Pilon St-Louis made a shot to the lower right corner to put the Mavericks up 1-0 in the 31st minute.
    • Omaha had a dominate first half with seven shots. 
    • The Mavericks held the Roos to just one corner kick, and two shots in the first half. 
    • At the end of the first 45, the Mavericks were leading 1-0.
    • With 12:46 left in the second half the game was delayed due to weather. 
    • After the second weather delay of the day, the Mavericks returned to the pitch to finish the game. 
    • In the 89th minute of the match Luke Smith took a yellow card in the box, allowing the Roos to take a penalty kick. 
    • On the kick Kansas City equalized the game, resulting in a 1-1 draw. 
    • `At the conclusion of the match, Lute Lillo Portero was given a red card, resulting in a one game suspension.

    • The Mavericks were out shot at the end of the match 14-11.
    • Omaha trailed in corner kicks 9-2, with 8 Roo corners coming in the second half. 
    • Pilon St-Louis recorded the lone goal and his first goal of the season.
