Kyle Reese were selected as this year's players to watch
» Cuevas was named to the All-Summit First Team and All-Newcomer Team. He started in 15 matches where he helped post five shutouts. He was the team leader in assists and netted one goal last season.
» Reese earned All-Summit League honorable mention honors. He started in 14 games and helped post five shutouts, and held opponents to a 1.44 goals against average.
» Omaha added 10 newcomers during the off season, replacing nine Mavericks from the prior year.
» UNO posted a 8-6-2 overall record and a 5-2-1 finish in league play. The team finished third in Summit League Tournament last fall, after a defeat by Denver the defending champions.
» Tied games will result in a draw following regulation. Overtime will not be played in the regular season.
Scouting the Houston Christian Huskies
The Huskies finished their 2022 campaign with a 5-8-6 overall record and finished 1-5-3 in conference play. They had two big back-to-back 6-0 shutouts against Eastern Illinois and Howard Payne.
Huskies to Watch
» Ethan Giwa-McNeil was second on the team for goals scored with five. He also recorded two assists on the team and 27 shots.
» D'Alessandro Herrera was one of three players to feature in all 19 contests for the Huskies. He was tied at the end of last season for points with 12 and third on the team in goals. Herrera led the Huskies with six assists.
Huskie Goalkeeping
Houston Christian will return leading goalkeeper Alex Aitken. He started in all 19 contests, recordings a .733 save percentage and 88 saves. He finished with a 5-8-6 record.
Series History
Omaha has only seen Houston Christian once prior back in 2017. The Mavericks came out victorious with a 1-0 shutout.
