FARGO, N.D. - The No. 4 Omaha Mavericks opened their fourth consecutive Summit League Tournament appearance with a loss on Wednesday as they were defeated 9-2 by No. 1 Oral Roberts.

Omaha will now move on to the first elimination game, which will be played tomorrow between them and the loser of the North Dakota State and South Dakota State game.

Innings 1-4
It was all ORU through the first three innings as the Golden Eagles took advantage of seven Mavericks walks to score six runs on just four hits. Omaha had a couple chances to get on the board in the second and third after getting two men on in each inning, but nothing came of either attempt.

The Mavericks were finally able to get to Oral Roberts' starter Harley Gollert in the fourth as Eddie Satisky golfed one off the scoreboard in left to make it 6-1. 

Innings 5-9
After the Golden Eagles picked up two more runs in the fifth with their first home run of the day, Satisky responded in kind in the sixth with his second leadoff home run of the game on virtually the exact same low pitch from Gollert. Omaha then got the next two men on to threaten ORU with further damage, only for the next three batters to be set down in order. Like with the first Satisky homer, Oral Roberts got the run right back the next inning to take a 9-2 lead through six.

Both teams went scoreless over the next two innings, with Brennen Bales and Luke Gainer each blanking the Golden Eagles for an inning. On to the ninth, A Mike Boeve double was all Omaha would get as ORU went on to win the opening game of the tournament.

Inside the Box Score
Satisky doubled his season home run total today after entering the tournament with two home runs all year. This is the first multi-home run game of his career and his second three-hit game of the season.
