Lincoln, Neb.-- The Omaha women's golf team completed the first round of the 2023 Summit League women's golf championship at Wilderness Ridge country club on Sunday, Apr. 23. 

The Mavericks sit in eighth place after a round one score of 310. They sit four strokes behind North Dakota, which holds seventh place with 306. 

Emily Karmazin leads the way for the Mavericks after round one. The freshman scored 73 (+2) in the opening round, recording eight-straight par-or-better holes on the front nine. Karmazin shares 11th place, three strokes behind the leaders. 

Nicole Hansen is in the top-20 after a round one score of 76 (+5). Hansen shares 19th place on the leaderboard. Sydney Taake finished the first round in a tie for 37th with a score of 79 (+8). Macarena Garcia and Mika Miyata share 41st place after matching scores of 82 over the first 18.
