The Omaha Mavericks Men's Tennis team went to work last night and downed the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts 5-2.

"It was a total team win tonight. I'm really glad we started off hot in the doubles and got the point," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "Oral Roberts gave us all we wanted in singles, but luckily we had a couple of the 3 setters fall our way. Overall proud of the guys effort tonight."

The doubles squads of Davis Lawley/Quintan Van Wijk and Hugo Piles Ballester/Alvaro Quintana secured the opening doubles point for the Mavericks. They won 6-2 and 6-1 respectively. Tallying the singles points for Omaha was Mikhail Korkunov, Ryoma Mishiro, Piles Ballester and Van Wijk. Korkunov and Piles Ballester each won in three sets after dropping their opening set.

The Mavericks will close out their 2023 home slate tonight when they take on Marquette from Miracle Hill Tennis Center. Tonight's match is also Senior Day and the Mavericks will be honoring Graduate rackets Davis Lawley and Hugo Piles Ballester along with Senior racket Alvaro Quintana.
