The Omaha Women's Tennis team opened up the weekend with a big 4-3 Summit League victory over Oral Roberts this afternoon from Miracle Hill Tennis Center.

"What a thrilling win today. The ladies fought tooth and nail for it and it's a great feeling," Omaha head coach Adam Summitt said. "We've had a lot of matches this year not go our way and this is a great sight to see. The team never quit, even after losing the doubles point and first sets. Oral Roberts really brought it today and played some great doubles."

Despite falling in doubles, Omaha battled the rest of the way to close out the victory in singles. Jessica Aragon, Alexia Di Giulio, Brooke Covington and Ines Absisan all took care of business in singles to propel the Mavericks to the win this afternoon. Covington and Absisan both put together gutsy comeback victories after dropping their first sets.

"Ines and Brooke were really clutch today. I'm proud of them and the team for their effort today. We will try to recreate it tomorrow." Summitt said.

The Mavericks will wrap up the weekend tomorrow afternoon against the Marquette Golden Eagles. First serve set for 1:30 p.m.
