SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -
Frankie Fidler was named an All-Summit Honorable Mention Wednesday afternoon, the Summit League announced. Fidler represents Omaha for the first time in two seasons with an all-conference accolade.
Fidler leads the Mavericks averaging 14.6 points per game. In league contests, Fidler's average is even higher at 16.8 ppg. In those games, he is shooting 47 percent from the field and averaging 5.8 rpg.
The sophomore forward notched four double-doubles this season. Fidler's first career double-double came in Coach Crutchfield's first win at the helm and home opener vs. Idaho. He scored 27 points and grabbed a career-high 11 boards. Recently, Fidler had a 27-point, 10-rebound outing against South Dakota.
In addition to his double-double efforts, Fidler has scored double-figures in 23 games this season, which is highlighted by a season-best 33 points vs. St. Thomas.
Fidler has also been a threat at the free throw line. He is shooting over 88 percent at the line to rank 20th in the nation. Fidler has consistently ranked in the NCAA top-25, and made it as high as the top-10 earlier this year when his average was over 90 percent at the line.
Fidler and the Mavericks return to action Friday in the Summit League Tournament. They will take on the No. 7 Kansas City Roos at 8:30 p.m.
