DALLAS, Texas - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its 2023 Preseason All-America Teams earlier today and Mavericks ace Caleb Riedel was named Third Team All-American.

Last season, the lefty made the jump to Division I after a standout year at Iowa Western CC and immediately established himself as one of the top starting pitchers in the country. Through 60.1 innings across 13 starts, Riedel owned the second-best ERA in the nation at 1.49, as well as a 1.18 WHIP, .229 opponents' batting average, and 65 strikeouts.

For his efforts last season, Riedel was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Year and made First Team All-Summit.

Opening Day is only two weeks away as the Mavericks are preparing for to kick things off February 17 against UCLA in Los Angeles, California.
