Nicole Hansen leads the Mavericks and is tied for eighth place after day one

Mavericks in Fifth After First Two Rounds at Loyola

Libertyville, Ill.-- The Omaha women's golf team is in fifth place at the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational after the first two rounds of play from the Merit Club. 

The Mavericks scored 320 in the first round and 313 in the second for a day-one total of 633. Omaha sits 14 strokes behind fourth place UIC, and four strokes ahead of sixth place Drake. North Dakota State leads the invite with a two-round total of 603, and California Baptist's Sofia Chabon sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 143. 

Nicole Hansen leads the Mavericks with a day-one total of 154. Hansen is tied for eighth place overall after matching scores of 77 (+5) in the first two rounds. Nicole tallied five birdies in the second round and leads the tournament with eight birdies over the first 36 holes. 

Emily Karmazin sits three strokes behind Hansen and is in the top-20 after the second round. Karmazin scored 80 (+8) in round one and 77 (+5) in round two for a total of 157. Emily shares 19th place heading into the final round on Tuesday. 

Lavinia Romito shares 32nd place after a score of 160 on day one. Romito scored 80 (+8) in the first and second rounds. Macarena Garcia is two strokes behind Romito with a score of 162 through two rounds. Garcia shares 39th place after an 83 in the first round and a 79 (+7) in the second.  

Emma Kirvan shares 71st place after a score of 174 over the first two rounds. Golfing individually, Mika Miyata is tied for 41st place. Miyata scored 163 on Monday after a 76 (+4) in the second round.
