Mavericks to Host Kansas City in Second Matchup of Season

The Omaha Mavericks are set to host Kansas City this Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. on Alumni Night. The Mavericks matched up with the Roos earlier this season for the conference opener, where they ended in a 1-1 tie. Omaha will look to close out the week with a win at home.

Quick Kicks
    • The Mavericks return from Denver with a 5-6-3 overall record on the season, and 2-2-1 in Summit League record. 
    • Omaha comes off a 1-0 shutout loss against Denver on Wednesday in a tight match. Despite the final score, the Mavericks presided the Pioneers in just about every stat category.
    • Last weekend, Omaha shutout the St. Thomas Tommies 1-0. 
    • The single goal against the Tommies came from Abdi Adan after intercepting a pass in the offensive zone. Adan passed it off to Junior Casillas to get open in the box, giving Casillas the assist. 
    • Nathanael Sallah notched his third shutout of the season, after a five-save match with UST. 
    • Earlier in the week the Mavericks matched up with No. 16 Missouri State. In a close match, Omaha fell 2-1. Casillas scored the lone goal against the Bears, with an assist from Abdi Adan.
    • With a goal and an assist each, Adan and Casillas each recorded three points last week. 
    • In the national rankings, UNO ranks 15th for shots on goal per game (6.46). Out of the 201 teams ranked, Omaha sits at 31 for their scoring offense. 
    • Sallah with a .775 save percent, ranks first in the Summit and 42nd nationally. 
    • Casillas leads the team with 15 points and a .600 shot percent. 
    • Theo Klein and Casillas are tied as leading goal scorers with six each. 
    • Adan leads the Mavericks in assists (4). 
    • Nathanael Sallah has recorded a .775 save percentage and Lute Lillo Portero comes in with a .684%.
    • Sallah and Lillo Portero have made 31 and 26 saves, respectively. 

Scouting the Kansas City Roos
The Kansas City Roos  are 1-2-2 in Summit League play, and 3-6-4 overall. On the season, the Roos have only scored 16 goals off 157 shots, for a .102 shot percent. They have allowed 21 goals in the 13 games, averaging out to 1.62 goals against per game.

    • Julien Le Bourdoulous leads the Roos in points (9), assists (5), and shots (43).
    • Brice Middleton has recorded 19 shots, three goals, and two assists for eight points.

Stefano Camerlengo has played in 810 minutes, recording 41 saves. In his nine games played, he's allowed 17 goals for a 1.89 goals-against average and a .707 save percent. 

Series History
The Mavericks lead the series against the Roos 4-3-3. The teams matched up earlier this season for the first conference game of the campaign. Omaha had an early 1-0 lead, but KC tied it in the last minute off a penalty kick. The 90 minute match resulted in a 1-1 draw.
