Denver, Colo. -- The Omaha Mavericks fall to the Summit League's top ranked opponent, Denver, in 1-0 contest. Despite the final score, Omaha had presiding control of the ball over the Pioneers.
The Mavericks fall to a 5-6-4 overall record, and drop to 2-2-1 in Summit League play.
How It Happened
• The first 25 minutes of the match looked promising for the Mavericks and they controlled possession of the ball for a vast majority of that period.
• In the opening 30 seconds of the match, the Mavericks were given their first corner kick opportunity, although nothing came of it.
• In the final two minutes of the first half, the Mavericks gave up a corner kick. On the kick, the Pioneers took a shot that took a bounce off the post onto the foot of a Pioneer, who had an open look at the net. With an open net, Denver was up 1-0 at the end of the half.
• Despite the one goal deficit at the end of the half, Omaha led shots 7-5 and had a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks.
• Omaha continued their fight in the second half. The Mavericks a plethora of good looks on net, and some unlucky bounces of the post.

Naz Astwood made some major defensive saves by the net, containing the Pioneers to just one goal.
• The Mavericks had their closest look to an equalizer in the closing minutes with a corner kick that resulted in a post shot by
Theo Klein.
• Although a fight till the final buzzer, the Mavericks were shutout 1-0 by the Pioneers.
