SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - It was a Maverick sweep this week as
Emily Huss took home Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week and
McKenna Ruch earned Offensive Peak Performer of the Week.
Enjoying the best week yet of her young career, Huss became the first Maverick this season to record double-digit blocks in a single match when she stopped 11 shots on Saturday, including four block solos (also a first for a Maverick this year). Overall, she totaled 14 blocks last week.
This is the first weekly honor of Huss' career.
Ruch led Omaha's offense last week with 25 kills, 3.57 K/S, and a .396 attack percentage. With 12 kills vs. Denver and 13 vs. North Dakota, she now has double-digit kills in four straight matches and 10 overall. Her .500 attack percentage against the Pioneers is her second highest of the season and marked the fifth time she posted a percentage above .400 this season.
Ruch was previously named Defensive Player of the Week four times in her career. This is her first ever weekly offensive honor.
