OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks made it seven wins in a row on Saturday as they downed North Dakota 3-1 in their second meeting of the season.
First-place Omaha improves to 8-10 overall with a 7-1 conference record, while the Fighting Hawks slip to 5-14 and 2-5 in the conference.

- Both teams started off the day with an incredibly close first set that saw 14 ties. Brynlee Arnold and Shayla McCormick each had four kills for Omaha, while Emily Huss led the defense with a pair of blocks. Tied at 21-21, though, UND broke the stalemate with four of the next five points to go up 1-0.
- The Mavericks got even in set two after building a comfortable lead halfway through at 16-10 thanks to three kills apiece for McCormick and McKenna Ruch. The Fighting Hawks made a late run to try and get back in the set, cutting the deficit down to three at 23-20, but one more kill each for Amanda Hardt and Arnold shut the door on them.
- Initially falling behind 10-5 to start the third, Omaha scored six of the next seven to tie it up at 11-11, with Huss doing the heavy lifting with three blocks and a kill. A block and a kill from Ruch would give the Mavericks their first lead of the set at 14-12. McCormick, Ruch, and Arnold all topped 10 kills down the stretch as Omaha held off one last push from UND to win set three.
- Following three close sets, the Mavericks blew the game wide open in the fourth, going on a 10-0 scoring run to take a 16-3 lead. Huss had three more blocks during this run to top 10 on the day. She would get another block and a kill in the set as Omaha cruised to an easy fourth-set victory.
Inside the Box Score
For the first time in her career, Arnold topped 10 kills in a single match, hitting the mark in the third set and finishing with 13 today. She had previously reached nine kills six times.
Ruch was tied with Arnold for the team lead with 13 kills, followed by McCormick with 12 and Hardt with 10. This is the second time this season that four Mavericks had double-digit kills in the same match, previously doing so vs. South Dakota last week.
Huss is the first Maverick this season to reach double-digit blocks as she ended the day with a career-high 11.
