Omaha, NE. -- The Omaha Mavericks shutout the St. Thomas Tommies 1-0 in Saturday afternoon's match. Despite a scoreless first half, the Mavericks found the back of the net in the second which was enough to top the Tommies.
The Mavericks now improve to a 5-5-3 overall record and a 2-1-1 conference record.
How It Happened
• The match got off to a slow start with little action in the first 45.
• In the first half the Mavericks led shots 8-4 and shots on goal 3-2.
• Omaha were awarded four corners in the first and kept St. Thomas to just two.
• The half ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
• Action got more intense in the second half with more looks on net.

Abdi Adan intercepted a pass just outside the offensive box. Adan passed it to
Junior Casillas who was inside the box. Adan got open and Casillas passed it back for him to take one-touch shot. Adan fired a the shot to the back of the net in the top middle.

Gage Daniels was given his second yellow card resulting in an automatic red card. The Mavericks were forced to play a man down for the remaining 12 minutes of the match.
• During a defensive battle in the closing minutes the Mavericks fought and kept the Tommies scoreless to finish the game 1-0.
