Mavericks Drop Close Match 2-1 to #16 Missouri State

Springfield, MO. -- The Omaha Mavericks fall 2-1 to the #16 Missouri State Bears in Wednesday night's match. Despite putting up a late first half goal to enter the half tied, the Mavericks were out-played in the second. 

The Mavericks now drop to a 4-5-3 overall record on the season. 
 
How It Happened
    • The game got off to a slow start as the first action of the game was a shot by Ede Gramberg in the 7th minute. 
    • The Bears got on the board early with a goal in the 15th minute. 
    • In the closing minutes of the half, Junior Casillas netted the Mavericks one and only goal with an assist from Abdi Adan.
    • The Bears came out of the half strong, not allowing Omaha a shot until the 54th minute. 
    • After a five substitutinos by the Bears, Missouri State had new fresh faces on the pitch. With a seemly second wind, the Bears scored just 15 seconds late in the 76th minute. 
    • Though a fight till the end, the Mavericks fell 2-1 at the end of the 90th minute.
     
Inside the Box
    •  At the end of the match, shots were tied 10-10, but the Bears got nine shots on goal compared to the Mavericks five. 
    • Omaha wasn't allowed a single corner during the match and gave up five to Missouri State. 
    • Casillas scored his sixth goal of the season, to tie Theo Klein as team leaders.
    • Adan notched his fourth assist of the season to take sole possession of team assist leader. 
    • Nathanael Sallah made six saves on the night.
    • Sallah falls to a 2-2-1 record.
