Mavericks Set for Third Straight Road Match

The Omaha Mavericks will take the road once to compete against the Missouri State Bears for a midweek match on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. Following the match against the Bears, the Mavericks will return home Saturday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. to match up against the St. Thomas Tommies.

Quick Kicks
    • Omaha enters Wednesday's match with a 4-4-3 overall record and a 1-1-1 conference record.
    • Over the weekend the Mavericks recorded their first conference loss of the season to Oral Roberts. Omaha dropped the match 5-2.
    • The two goals were scored by Theo Klein and  Abdi Adan. Both were assisted by Sokol Ymeraj.
    • In the national rankings, UNO ranks 19th for their scoring offense and 16th for total points. 
    • The Mavericks lead the conference in shot accuracy, total assists, and assists per game. 
    • Klein ranks 48th among 120 player in the nation for total goals (6). He also ranks 52nd nationally for his shot accuracy. 
    • Klein leads the team in points (13), goals (6),  and shots (25).
    • Five Mavericks, including Adan, Ymeraj, Wawa Palga, Gonzalo Cuevas, and Martin Lago, are tied for first with three assists each.
    • Nathanael Sallah has recorded a .741 save percentage and Lute Lillo Portero comes in with a .684%.
    • Sallah and Lillo Portero has made 20 and 26 saves respectively. 
    • Tied games will result in a draw following regulation. Overtime will not be played in the regular season.
    
Digging In:
Scouting the Missouri State Bears
Missouri State will put Omaha to the test. The Bears have gone 6-1-3 overall. On the season they have scored 15 goals and taken 12.8 shots per game. The Bears have only allowed three goals in their 10 games for a .3 goals against average. Their defense is to be credit, as they have only allowed 35 shots and 18 on net. 

Bear to Watch
    • Sophomore Gjis Hovius his tied at first for goals with three and has recorded one assist. 
    • Senior Pablo Guillen is the other Bear to have scored three goals on the season. 

Bears Goalkeeping
Harry Townsend has been the only goalkeeper to see action. Townsend has made 13 saves while only allowing three goals for a .30 goals against average. 

Series History
Going into the series the Mavericks will look to pick up their first ever win against the Bears as they have gone 0-3-1. The last match between the teams was in 2019 where UNO fell 0-1.
